LYNETTE HULLWhen an early foray as a small business owner was interrupted by parenting, Lynette applied
her entrepreneurial energies to eighteen years of adaptive homeschooling her three children. As her charges gradually transferred to a variety of institutions and conservatories, she embarked upon a study of Byzantine Iconography. In 2004, she began regular study with the American-Russian Prosopon School of Iconology and Iconography. The Prosopon School (www.prosoponschool.org) is one of the pre-eminent institutions committed to the embodiment of Byzantine iconological ideals and the development of iconology in contemporary culture. Lynette is a student of Master Iconographer Vladislav Andrejev, and hosts and teaches at workshops in conjunction with the school. Lynette conceived, developed and curated the traveling exhibition Wrestling with Angels: Icons from the Prosopon school of Iconology and Iconography (https://www.wrestlingwithangels- icons.com/). She wrote and published the catalog which accompanies the exhibition, and published a reissue of Iconwriter’s Prayerbook, written by Vladislav Andrejev featuring icons from the exhibition. Her lecture invitations have included Princeton University, University of Toronto, Wheaton College, Cambridge University and TEDx Cape May. She has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout the United States. Her commissions are featured in churches and private collections throughout the United States. Lynette holds a BA from Wheaton College (IL). |
