Andrea Bakas is a member of the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Los Angeles. She has had a lifelong interest in religious studies. She attended Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and focused her studies on scripture and scriptural interpretation. She is an active member of the Orthodox Center for the Advancement of Biblical Studies (OCABS) and the author of two articles on the book of Acts. She is the founder of the Los Angeles Bible Lecture Series, weekend seminars on Biblical topics. She has an interest in Roman-era archaeology and participated in several seasons at the Bethsaida archaeological dig in northern Israel. She is a Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedic Surgery. She holds Masters degrees in Nursing and Public Health. |
